USEFUL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CAT OWNERS BELOW

FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) IS NOW TREATABLE!

Many vets are still unaware that the FDA went ahead and is allowing treatment with the anti-viral medication called
GS-441524. As of June 1, 2024, compounded GS-441524 is available in the United States for veterinary prescription! This is an off-label treatment that the FDA is allowing without an official "approval". I personally know a few people who have now successfully treated their kitten through their vet with this treatment.

Overweight or Obese Cats and the Risks to their Health.

Cat obesity is important to address, and quickly, as it is associated with real risks. Obese cats are at a greater risk for many diseases like diabetes, liver disease, arthritis, urinary problems, lameness, pancreatitis and GI diseases of all types, and skin problems such as dandruff. Fat cats also experience a decreased quality of life and even an increased possibility of cancer.

Cat Eyes Health Care Tip.

If your cat or kitten starts to get watery eyes or irritated eyes.
I highly recommend getting Terramycin from chewy or amazon for treatment ASAP. It's a go-to-medicine for groomers and vets alike. If you treat watery eyes immediately, you avoid later complications such as your cat developing cat entropion, which is only treatable with surgery. Eye irritation left untreated creates even more complications long-term.

Teach Your Kitten How to Play Nice.

Kittens, just like puppies, need trained. All my cats are so sweet and are not jerks--that's because I raise them that way. Yes, you train a kitten on how to behave, just like you do puppies and children. Cats are very smart and do great with training. A kitten's life is all about play ... and play is all about prey. Kittens start to play when they are a few weeks old. If you look closely, you'll notice that you now have an itty-bitty hunter in your house. Kittens learn to control how hard they bite from their mothers and littermates. Kittens also learn acceptable play from humans: if people use their hands and feet instead of toys to play with a young kitten, the kitten may learn that hands and feet are play objects—which is cute when they’re kittens, but painful when they’re adults. Consistency is key. Everyone in the household must be on the same page: your kitten can't be expected to learn that it's okay to play rough with certain people but not with others. A Guide to Being a Responsible Pet Owner.

Pets bring joy to their owners, filling their homes and lives with an abundance of energy and companionship. But it’s also important to recognize pet ownership encompasses more than evening strolls and furry cuddles: It’s a financial and emotional long-term responsibility.

Outside of providing food and shelter, pets require routine healthcare and pet insurance, care providers and groomers, supplies, training and more. Delve into the costs, commitment and expectations of responsible pet ownership to determine if having a pet is a good choice for you and your lifestyle. Can Your Cat or Dog Catch a Cold or the Flu from You?

Dogs can’t: “There’s no concern with dog-to-human, or human-to-dog, transmission,” says Scott Weese, the Canada research chair in zoonotic diseases and an associate professor at the Ontario Veterinary College. Dogs get viruses from each other. But a cat can catch cold or flu from you. “The virus attaches to cells in the respiratory tract of felines similarly to how it does in humans,” says Weese. He points to reports of H1N1 found in cats in the United States. Cats also get cat-to-cat viruses that are similar to a cold, but humans can’t catch those. LINK:
