Yes! We are a small, home-based hobby cattery, which allows us to run our program more intimately and with a personal touch. Our queens and kings are right here in our home as part of our family. Our studs have their own dedicated cat rooms with attached catios that they have access to throughout the day. Our kittens are raised underfoot and surrounded by normal household life from day one. You can see plenty of videos of our home, cats, and kittens throughout this website and on our social media pages. We’re incredibly proud of the well-socialized kittens we raise, and one of the compliments we hear most often from new families is how quickly their kittens adjust and how sweet, confident, and outgoing they are.
▶️ When do the kittens go home?
Kittens generally go to their new homes around 13 to 14 weeks of age. Pickup dates are scheduled in advance, but I understand that schedules don’t always line up perfectly and can usually work with families who need an adjusted pickup date. ▶️ Will I receive pictures and updates of my reserved kitten before bringing them home?
Absolutely. I send picture updates approximately every two weeks from the time we identify your kitten until they go home. I also regularly post videos on our social media pages and send helpful information to prepare you for bringing your kitten home. Families on our deposit list are contacted as kittens become available for selection.

▶️ What is included with the price of my kitten?
Each kitten goes home with their veterinary paperwork, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a small supply of familiar food and treats to help with the transition into their new home. Our kittens are also backed by our two-year genetic health guarantee.
▶️ What size are your Maine Coons?
Our adult Maine Coons generally fall within the larger range for the breed. Our males typically weigh around 18 to 23 pounds, while our females generally weigh around 14 to 19 pounds. Maine Coons mature slowly, and individual adult size can vary considerably depending on genetics, sex, body structure, and other factors. We focus on producing healthy, well-proportioned Maine Coons rather than guaranteeing a particular adult weight.
▶️ What colors do you have?
We produce a variety of colors and patterns. Black smoke is one of the colors we’re especially known for, but depending on the pairing, we may also produce black, silver tabby, silver torbie, black smoke tortie, black tortie, red tabby, red smoke, black/brown tabby, blue smoke, blue tortie, blue, and blue tabby. Not every color is produced in every litter, so please check our Available Kittens page for what we currently have.
▶️ Are your adults and kittens registered?
Yes. Mountain Peak Maine Coons is a registered cattery with The International Cat Association (TICA) under the registered name MountainPeakMC. Breeder is Daphne Riggs. Our breeding cats are registered, and registration paperwork for kittens is provided after proof of spay/neuter as required by our contract.
▶️ Do you offer breeding rights or showing?
Our kittens are placed in pet homes only, and we do not offer breeding rights. Kittens are required to be spayed or neutered within the timeframe specified in our contract, and TICA registration paperwork is provided after I receive proof that the kitten has been altered.
▶️ Do you DNA health test the parents?
Yes. Our breeding cats receive DNA health testing through Optimal Selection Feline Genetic Breeding Analysis. The panel screens for multiple inherited conditions relevant to cats and Maine Coons. *HCM, SMA, PKD/PKDef
Genetic testing is one part of our overall health program and is used along with veterinary care, health history, and responsible breeding decisions.
▶️ Do your adults and kittens receive regular veterinary care and vaccinations?
Yes. Our adult cats receive routine veterinary care annually and additional care whenever needed.
Before going home, each kitten receives a complete veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, and other routine care appropriate for their age. Veterinary paperwork is provided to the new family.
▶️ Are your cats tested for FIV and FeLV?
Yes. Our breeding cats have been tested for FIV and FeLV, and we also test a kitten from each litter.
Mountain Peak is a closed, indoor cattery. Our breeding cats do not roam outdoors or have contact with free-roaming or unknown cats, which greatly reduces their ongoing exposure risk.

Yes. Every Mountain Peak kitten is backed by our two-year health contract. I encourage prospective families to read the contract before reserving a kitten so they understand exactly what is covered and what is expected of both of us.
▶️ How do I get on your deposit list?
Start by completing our KITTEN APPLICATION. I typically respond within a few hours from [email protected], so please check your junk or spam folder if you don’t see my reply. Once your application has been approved, I will provide the information needed to reserve a kitten or join our deposit list.
▶️ Where are you located? We are located in Freeport, Florida.
The majority of our families actually live outside our immediate area, so we’re very accustomed to working with out-of-state families. Nationwide flight nanny delivery is available for families who are unable to pick up their kitten personally. Delivery details can be found HERE.
▶️ Do you offer long-distance delivery?
Yes. We offer personal flight nanny delivery so your kitten travels in the aircraft cabin and remains in our care throughout the journey. Many of our families live outside Florida and use this option. You can read all of the details about our flight nanny service.

Our pricing ranges from $3000 to $3800 based on gender, and whether the kitten is standard-paw or polydactyl. Payment options are provided during the reservation process. Depending on the type of payment, options may include Cash App, Venmo, Square/credit card, or check. Our home is not open to the general public for the health and safety of our cats and kittens. We do, however, allow approved families to pick up their kitten at our home.
